This Saturday May 20th will see Ellie Hancock reach game 25 for the club!
As Womens Team Captain and Team Manager Ellie puts in a lot of effort to better the Club and Womens team. As a player Ellie always gives her all and is super passionate about the sport.
We spoke to Head Coach Adam Jack to gain a little insight into Ellie.
Ellie is a fantastic player, she has a steely determination to get the best out of herself in everything she does. That determination has served her well. Ellie arrived at the club a novice and has turned herself into one of the first names on the team sheet come selection. Ellie’s ability to win the hard ball on the inside is key to the team and she is always ready to support run on the outside. Off the field Ellie is warm, friendly, welcoming and a recruiting superstar! As a natural leader Ellie is Co Club Captain, a role she perfoms with distinction. Well done on reaching 25 games, I hope there is many more to come!
We also asked Ellie, What grabbed your attention/interest from the club to keep you coming back again and again?
The Sharks were so welcoming and encouraged me to come along and give footy a go even though id never played a sport like it. The trainings are so much fun and the team is really sociable. I love the fact we train with the mens team and have joint socials too, as not many sports tend to do that. The Sharks take footy and enjoyment seriously in equal measure. I can’t imagine what I would do without them now! 🦈🫶🏼
We also asked Ellie what her go to warm up song was: My song is Boss Bitch by Doja Cat, Because in the words of Doja “you’re a bitch, you’re a boss, you’re a bitch, you’re a boss and you shine like gloss” and who doesnt need that pump up when theyre about to play!
